Journalist Mathew Birt from British publication MCN has reported that Jorge Lorenzo had apparently approached Casey Stoner’s ex-Crew Chief Cristian Gabbarini about being part of his team for the 2015 season. This was at a time when there rumours about long-standing crew chief Ramon Forcada leaving Lorenzo’s side in Yamaha. In the end it was Forcada who signed a contract for a further two years, whilst Gabbarini was given the task of being Jack Miller’s technical guru for his big step up to MotoGP.

It was revealed in MCN that he sometimes doesn't show up at meetings or appointments with some of the top people in International racing. He allows his mouth to run off, such as at the NW200 when his brother was being interviewed on TV and Michael interrupted in a very ignorant manner. He's his own worst enemy when it comes to getting lucrative rides, and most teams don't keep him for longer than season. Sad but true.
