Posle osvojene titule u Moto2 imao je test u fabričkom Suzukiju, ali iz nekog razloga Rins je primljen u tim umesto njega, što ga je primoralo da vozi još jednu sezonu u Moto2 i osvoji još jednu titulu, ali opet za njega nije bilo mesto u nekom od fabričkih timova.
