Ducati test rider Michele Pirro is already scheduled to take part in the Spanish round as a Ducati wild-card. However, were Pirro to remain as a 'wild-card' (perhaps with some Pramac branding) he would not be using up Spies' engine allocation. The exact wording of the replacement/wild-card engine rules is as follows: "Should a rider be replaced for any reason, the replacement rider will be deemed to be the original rider for purposes of engine allocation.
