Upravo sam zvao Urgentni centar na 366-2441 i dobio informaciju da je živ i na aparatima za reanimaciju. Poslao sam email Blicu da za svaki slučaj potvrde informaciju i objave izmenu. -

Slika pred očima nimalo prijatna, i ostavlja posledice kako za motociklistu tako i za posmatrača. Motociklista me je obišao malo pre okretnice, nije vozio brzo, a desetak sekundi kasnije motociklista udara u vozilo koje je izašlo iz sporedne ulice. Ni ja, niti supruga nismo gledali napred tako da nismo videli kada je pikap (džip sa otvorenim zadnjim delom) izašao na ulicu. U tom deliću sekunde vidim kako motociklista udara u vozilo i podvlači se ispod zadnjeg dela. Čujem zvuk lomljave, a vidim motor se sa upaljenim svetlima kliže 20ak metara dalje niz ulicu. Meni u glavi bujica nekakvih konfuznih misli, sve se nadam da će da ustane, ali motociklista nepomičan leži ispod vozila. Zaustavljam kola i palim sva četiri migavca kako bi obezbedio da se neko iza ne zaleti i napravi još goru stvar. U tom trenutku, vozač pikapa (verovatno u nameri da se skloni sa ulice) kreće u rikverc, ali ne vidi motociklistu kako leži bukvalno pola metra iza točka. Izlećem iz kola i vičem da stane i vozač zaustavlja vozilo na 30ak cm od točka, tako da je motociklista sada glavom ispod zadnjeg dela vozila. Prilazim motociklisti, on nepomičan. Na sebi ima kacigu, rukavice, moto-jaknu. Stavljam ruke, tražim znake života i govorim mu da ostane sa nama. U tom trenutku počinje da se trza što je prvi znak života. Zovem 94, 92, 000, 911 ali nikakav signal. Na 112 se javlja sekretarica koja govori da pozovem 92, 94... Govorim ljudima oko sebe da zovu hitnu pomoć. Momak koji je tu bio uspeva da ih dobije, ali ga čujem kako govori da motociklista nije živ, na šta mu kažem da jeste i da bolje da im kaže da jeste živ, možda bi požurili. Govorim vozaču pikapa da krene napred kako bi oslobodili prostor za vazduh, a posmatraču sa upaljenom cigarom govorim da se udalji. Žena koja se tu takođe zatekla pronalazi mu puls na ruci. Motociklista krvari iz nosa, a obzirom da leži na boku-stomaku, procenjujem da ne može doći do gušenja i da je bolje da ostane u tom položaju. Vidim mehuriće od krvi kako diše na nos, što je još jedan znak života. 15 do 20 minuta kasnije stiže hitna pomoć, osoblje inicijalno misli da nije živ, ali mu doktorka pronalazi puls i nas 5-6orica ga vodoravno podižemo, stavljamo na nosila i motociklistu unose u vozilo. ... Zatim stiže i policija, koja obezbeđuje mesto nesreće, tada vozač pikapa koji je pretpostavljam takođe u šoku izlazi iz kola. Sa njim izlazi i žena i dete koji su verovatno u šoku jer sve vreme nisu ni izlazili iz pikapa. Vozač priča da ga nije video, a njegova saputnica komentariše kako motociklisti divljaju po putevima i slično. Mene čudi da policija ne radi alko test na licu mesta u bilo kom slučaju kada se desi nesreća, ali opet to su verovatno standardne procedure. ... Nisam pametan, stavljam sebe u tu situaciju, i vrtim kombinacije kroz glavu. Jeste, vozač pikapa je po zakonu kriv, ali džabe krivica ako se desi ono najgore. Jedna od stavki iz "škole defanzivne vožnje" govori o tome da je potrebno uspostaviti "kontakt očima" sa vozačem koji ulazi u raskrsnicu. Ako se pogledi ne ukrste, onda nas drugi vozač ne vidi. Upotrebiti i sirenu kratko ako treba. Dalje, potrebno je povremeno vežbati (na parkingu, poligonu) naglo izbegavanje prepreka. Ako želimo naglo da skrenemo naprimer desno, guvernal treba naglo i kratko okrenuti u LEVO, jer motor tada pada na desnu stranu i ide ka DESNO. (probajte) To što motociklista ima prednost u raskrsnici, ama baš ništa ne znači. Tretirajte svaku raskrsnicu kao da nemate prednost, jer sudar motocikliste i bilo kog drugog prevoznog sredstva uglavnom loše završi po motociklistu. ... Ne zamerite mi što delujem "kao da pametujem", jer sam u šoku možda ponajviše što treba da objašnjavam 3.5godišnjem sinu da "tata neće da padne sa motora". -

Ne mogu da spavam. Malopre sam zvao urgentni centar i motociklista je živ i zbrinut. Više informacija mi nisu mogli dati. -
Nažalost, svedok sam saobraćajnoj nesreći koja se desila 8.aprila u 19:05h u ulici Braće Jerković (prva "T" raskrsnica ispod okretnice 26-ice kad se krene prema Voždovcu). Učesnici su vozač tamnoplavog (ili crnog) motocikla novije proizvodnje i vozač Tojote Hilux (ili tako nekako). Motociklista je bio u nesvesnom stanju ali živ kada smo ga uneli u vozilo hitne pomoći. Voleo bih da znam šta je sa motociklistom. Trenutno sam u šoku, jer za mene ova nesreća ima posebnu težinu.

Zdravo svima, Evo kratkog izvestaja sa sastanka Horizons Unlimited udruzenja odrzanog proslog vikenda (13-15 marta) u mestu Mita Mita u Viktoriji. Mala digresija, na moj post u kome sam pitao da li ima zainteresovanih da se pridruze na putovanju do Beograda javilo mi se vise ljudi, ali najozbiljniji kandidat za sada je Aleks, doktor iz Adelajda - inace nase gore list ali na zalost ne zna srpski (bice vremena da ga nauci:). On bi zeleo da obidje rodbinu u okolini Beograda motorom, a obzirom da je skupljanje informacija veoma vazna faza u pripremama, odluka je pala da se upoznamo i da se provozamo zajedno na sastanak HU udruzenja. Sta reci, 3 dana voznje, prezentacija-predavanja, 2 dana kampovanja i sto je najvaznije - dobrog provoda. Oko 100ak gostiju, medju kojima je bilo dosta ljudi koji su ustvari prosli kroz razne zemlje ove planete uzduz i popreko. Takodje dosta ljudi je bilo sa ADV foruma. Drago mi je da sator nije propustio vodu nakon jake kise koja je padala u par navrata Dan 2 7 ujutro pored potoka. Cisto i uredno mesto za rostiljanje. Definitivno vredi posetiti ponovo Garijev Suzuki Burgman. Da, on je posetio sve ove zemlje na auto nalepnicama ! Al je dosao iz Perta da se nadje sa starim prijateljem iz osnovne skole. Lep motor kompletno opremljen Prva grupna voznja Malo kasnije stigli smo na "Darmouth Dam" - vestacko jezero Susa i klimatske promene cine svoje Hidrocentrala sa druge strane 1-casovna pauza Aleks i ja. SRB MNE - drago mi je da vidim ove nalepnice:) 32km off-road i poslednjih 200m veoma nezgodnog puta Roj, hvala za toplu vodu ! Gari na putu nazad Prvo padanje sa motora u zivotu. (mada vise je bilo spustanje). Srecom, protektor je odradio posao tako da je samo poklopac menjaca ogreban. Bili smo komsije 2 dana Dejvid, vlasnik Safari Touratech kompanije je drzao prezentaciju o procesu pravljenja plasticnih rezervoara. Mobilna prodavnica sa mnogim artiklima na popustu Dan 3 - vreme da se ide kuci Mitta Mitta - Omeo put. Nekoliko iznenadjenja sa kravama na putu, ali sve je proslo uredu Gari nas je napustio prema Falls Creek-Brightu, a Aleks i ja smo nastavili ka Omeo-Mt.Hotham-Brightu Lepi pogledi i odlicni putevi za motore. Viktorija je pravi raj za motocikliste Mt. Hotham Cool, isn't it Posto je bilo kasno odlucili smo da ne idemo prema Mensfildu, nego smo odlucili da idemo autoputem do Melburna Sledeci dan u mojoj garazi PS: Zahvaljujem se organizatorima i svim ucesnicima od kojih sam saznao puno korisnih informacija. Dobrodošao na zapad ! Inat ne dovodi do rešenja i uglavnom ide na štetu onoga koji ga tera. Moraš da računaš na duže staze. Nakon hladne noći provedene napolju verovatnoća da ćeš zaraditi reumu (ili neku drugu bolest) se drastično povećava. A svaki dan proveden u krevetu je izgubljen i mnogo više vredi od 120din. Da sam na tvom mestu pokušao bi da se "nagodim" sa vozačem za 60din ili za 100din, a ako ne uspe onda bi platio 120din. Razmišljanje jednog nazovi "zapadnjaka". -

Odličan putopis i dobar zaključak (tj. umesto zaključka). U principu treba ići, videti i upoznati kako se neke stvari rade kod drugih (svejedno istok ili zapad). OVde ne mislim samo na kacige nego i na ostale nazovi "životne" stvari koje si primetio na putu. Za hranu si potpuno u pravu. Sve je to upakovano u neke lepe celofane i mašnice, ali džabe kad se pakovanje ne jede. Zato se mnogi naši prvo najedu kad dođu u zavičaj. Puno sreće i još mnogo putopisa ! Veliko -1 za noć na Štajgi ! Mada, iako je "samo" 100km, x2 je 200km, vožnja noću nije preporučljiva posebno nakon dugačkog dana, ali ipak je mogla da padne ponuda za prenoćište. -
Evo malo sredjenijih utisaka. 7000km U poredjenju razdaljina je otprilike slicna kao Beograd-Teheran-Beograd (i nazad), London-Ankara-London ili LA-Detroit-LA, ali mislim da je nemoguce izvesti te relacije u istom vremenskom periodu. Mozda jos samo u Rusiji ima da na potezu od 1000km ima 6 benzinskih pumpi i to je sve. Sve je bilo super i jedino sto ne bi vise ponovio jeste poslednji dan. Mogao sam prespavati negde usput, ali je*iga zurilo se kuci. Jedini "problem" je sto nisam imao vise muzike na telefonu, ovako 60ak pesama, pa se ponavlja u krug... Ljudi na putu takodje ima cudnih (evo prvi ja), starih, mladih, studentkinja, biciklista... Jedno nam je cini mi se zajednicko - avanturizam/adrenalin/izazov. Inace, put je asfaltiran celom duzinom i uglavnom prav ko strela tako da se mogu razvijati lepe brzine, mada iskreno u tim momentima od preko 200km/h (ukupno 4-5 momenta tokom celog puta) nisam vozio duze od pola minute. Jednostavno nije sigurno sa stvarima natovarenim pozadi, dok je 120km/h neka nazovi bezbedna brzina + potrosnja benzina prihvatljiva (veoma bitno ako se uzme razdaljina od 100-200km izmedju pumpi). Sto se tice ptice Magpie, to mu dodje kao Svraka kod nas (crno bela) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tasmanian_magpie_pair.jpg Spavanje nije bilo problem, a sator, vreca i madrac su tu bili samo zbog nedaj-Boze situacije. >*be se tebi i za poplave i za pozare Taj dan kada sam krenuo ujutro je bilo da se smrznes i kisa je padala. Ali prognoza je najavljivala vruc dan sto se i desilo kasnije i zbog cega sam se zaustavio dehidriran na 1000km od kuce (iako je prvobitno bilo planirano 1500km za taj dan). I stvarno mi je nedostajala hladnoca od tog jutra. GPS i mobilni telefon su se jednostavno ugasili zbog previsoke temperature, a valjda od vrucine i ja osamucen tako da sam se izgubio u Adelajdu. Za pozare sam tek saznao narednog jutra na benzinskoj pumpi 2500km od kuce, a posto sam i sam dobrovoljni vatrogasac bilo mi je krivo. Po povratku kuci na desetine mejlova (hvala svima) na koje je trebalo odgovoriti da su ti pozari na oko 80-100km od nas sto je otprilike razdaljina Bg-Novi sad. Da ironija bude veca poslednji dan, tj. vece sam se smrz'o k'o p***. Srecom na jednoj od pumpi (drumskih kafana) imali vrucu corbu od piletine i kukuruza koja me je sa przenicama u trenutku okrepila. Iako sam na sebe obukao vodo(vazduh)nepropusnu jaknu i pantalone (preko postojecih), pozalio sam sto nisam poneo termo postavu i termo pantalone. Naredne kafane nisu imali corbu, ali caj je takodje odradio dobro posao. Nakon maratonskih 23.5 sata voznje (sa pauzama), tusiranje, termofor za noge i spavanje nekih 7 sati, nakon toga ponovo voznjica, ali to je druga prica... Sledeci put ce se ici porodicno na 4 tocka i sve lepo rasporediti u 20ak dana. Nego danas citam Strujin zimski izvestaj o voznji u okolini Morave i bas sam se primio. Kings Park Beautiful and very quiet Indian ocean beach. I felt like I could go further, or maybe even around the continent. Australia is really my backyard now. This is unfortunately the end of the road and from now on were going back. Decided to go back as far as I could. However it was 7pm Perth local time and my Melbourne clock was showing 9pm I decided to stay in Northam, some 100kms East from Perth. Another chain spraying - this was rather a ritual. Day 4 - Northam - Nullarbor ~1533.2 km (5am-10pm) Monday 09/02/2009 Departed around 5pm and headed East. Hit the road Jack... Northam early morning Sunrise over Western Australia Refueling again at Southern Cross, Coolgardie, Norseman. Mining site near Southern Cross Reminder in Coolgardie Coolgardie city centre On the road In Norseman I was approached by Murray (my apology if the spelling is not correct) - FarRiders member from WA and he was going to a dinner in NSW. We then separated but met again in Caiguna. We rode together between Caiguna and Cocklebiddy. Unfortunately my bike does not have a fuel level gauge so I relied on my Trip meter. I quickly calculated it would be better if I refuel in Cocklebiddy which would get me to the Eucla. I hope Murray arrived safely to NSW. After about an hour and half of riding I noticed yellow fuel low level light switched on around 170km, so I guess something was wrong either in my calculation, or head wind was too strong. Stupid me, I found that I was riding all the time in 5th gear (instead of 6th) !!! I couldnt believe Ive done such a stupid thing. Somehow I managed to get to a Mundrabilla roadhouse. Beware of deep holes on a gravel road ! Also never trust your feelings - always trust your gauges e.g. speedometer. If you think 60kph is too slow - no it is not. Thank God nothing happened. There I met a German rider on a yellow BMW GS. He was complaining about very poor quality fuel at Madura Oasis roadhouse. Asked lady at the counter if she could tell me business hours for Nullarbor roadhouse. She rang them (learned that was a local call for all of the roadhouses in the area) and got information they are closing at 10pm (Adelaide time). This can be very useful to someone wishing to do this trip. Madura Oasis lookout Many roads in the area are also an emergency airstrips A bit later I was on WA/SA border. I understand all roadhouses do not earn big money compared to the petrol stations in urban areas, but in my opinion some of them went too far. Example is WA/SA border petrol station. I put nozzle into the tank and squeezed the trigger and just an air went out from nozzle and counter showed about 1 liter of petrol. Hang on !! But worst is coming, I released the trigger and pulled the nozzle out. Counter was still counting liters !!! That was very funny (and very dodgy). I had to make few good yells for someone to attend. Guy just told me to go to the another pump and try again. I met two foreign females in the campervan eating apples like mad They offered me an apples too. They were going to WA and they couldnt bring it in there. Quarantine checkpoint on SA/WA border Another two hours of riding and I was in Nullarbor. Actually I got there only 15 minutes before closing so I was very happy to get there. Each time I see a bird or animal close to the road I horn. Sometimes I horn for fun but in most cases it was a precaution. And it worked. Another refill, hired a room (the last one available - lucky me:) Room at Nullarbor Day 5 - Nullarbor - Melbourne ~1823.2 km (5:00am-4:30am next day) Tuesday/Wednesday 10/11 Feb 2009 One more day. The wildlife around Nullarbor is very live at night. I had a couple of kangaroo surprises, but my hand and foot brake reflexes were good too. Another beautiful sunrise Refill at Penong roadhouse, then stopped at Ceduna. My son loves windmills so I took several photos for him Bacon, eggs and a cup of tea for breakfast. It was too dark (and dusty) previous night so I didnt spray chain until the next day. Ceduna airport Iron Knob Famous intersection at Port Augusta (right Darwin, left Perth) Easy riding to Port Augusta, Pt. Wakefield and arrived in Adelaide around 6pm. I was struggling again to find a road to Melbourne. This time the weather was much cooler and GPS showed me the fastest route to Tailem Bend Adelaide It was getting darker and darker and I realised this is going to be a whole night experience. This time I put my rain pants to keep me warmer through the cold night. Getting to Bordertown was easy. You would be surprised how lively is on the Adelaide-Melbourne leg. Plenty of trucks, Id say having fun between themselves. Ive never seen before a truck to truck tailgating at 110kph. However I decided to keep trucks ahead of me and save me from potential kangaroos. It was a little bit "warmer" behind the trucks too. At Bordertown petrol station I had a Chicken and Corn Hot Soup and that was The Best meal I had in past couple of days. I recovered very quickly and took off. I was hoping other stations will have hot soup as well but that didnt happen. Then had a tea and that was also relieving. Three more stops: Horsham, Ararat (just for tea) and Ballarat. After 23.5 hours and approx 1800kms of riding from Nullarbor I arrived home in Melbourne. Conclusion: Is my bike Ok for long rides ? I think it is. Am I ok with long exhausting rides ? I think I am . Would I do it again? Why not. Next time that will be much slower and with my loved ones. Ima od svega po malo, mada ipak najvise ima moje zelje da se malo provozam. Fotografije bi trebalo da se sve ucitavaju. >jel imas neki razlog zbog cega je top-case toliko nakrenut napred? U pitanju je postolje rucne izrade (kum vario) pa smo gledali da bude paralelan sa repom, tj. sedistem uglavnom zbog estetike. Mozda smo malo preterali sa uglom, ali sve je izdrzalo bez problema velike brzine. Takodje razlika je skoro neprimetna kada vozim sa i bez kofera. Pozdrav

I found some comments on forums very useful (thanks Davo from FarRiders), but some of them were opposite. However, I didnt want to be distracted so I proceeded with the plan and preparation. Initial plan was to do the trip in 4 days (Melbourne-Ceduna-Perth-Ceduna-Melbourne), but unfortunate event of circumstances delayed this trip for one more day. Map Day 0 - Preparations Bike Regular service performed by myself (like always I do). Oil, filter, various inspections, paying attention on chain and tires (thanks father-in-law). More information on this can be found at http://www.farriders.com Day 1 - Melbourne - Port Augusta ~1034.8 km (3:30am-5pm) Friday 06/02/2009 Although this was the shortest leg in terms of kilometers ridden, this was probably the hardest section. To me this is more a mental game rather than physical. Initially, I felt like at the foot of Mount Everest, took a deep breadth and started climbing. The weather in Melbourne the was cold around 3:30am which is not unusual. It rained until Ballarat. The weather forecast was predicting very hot day and I knew in a couple of hours I will be missing this cold weather. My initial setup Bye Bye Melbourne McDonalds in Beaufort Giant Koala in Dadswells Bridge Grampians in West Victoria Horsham Pink Lake Kaniva city centre Vic/SA border Bordertown I realised on Victoria/South Australia border that I am taking too many photos and if I continue doing like this I wont be able to reach Ceduna on the same day. Approaching Adelaide the weather became very very hot. GPS and mobile phone shut down due to high temperature so I relied on my memory for road to Pt Augusta. Portrush Street in Adelaide Signs in Adelaide are good - but only for people who live there. For transit travelers it could be a nightmare. I knew I should be heading North (where the Sun is). Asked some people in cars for road to Pt. Augusta and they pointed me to the Main North Road. After 15-20minutes asked people in another car and they confirmed that I am in right direction. Some 70 ks later there was a first sign - but directing to Sydney. Bummer ! Parked a bike in a shade under some bridge and started unpacking and digging for my paper map. From that point paper map was always in a tank bag easy accessible. Ill never learn the difference between Sturt and Stuart Hwy Then went back, turned right to Two Wells and next stop was at Pt. Wakefield. You probably noticed my favourite petrol station. This is only due to a BP credit card discount. Port Wakefield Arrived in Pt Augusta around 5am. By that time it was still hot and I felt like being inside a dryer. Decision was not to proceed further as there are 4-6 hours to go to Ceduna, so better to stay on a safe line. My room in Best Western motel in Port Augusta Bike in front of the Motel I was a little bit disappointed that my goal to finish trip in 4 days will be harder to achieve. Sprayed a chain then went to bed. Day 2 - Port Augusta - Caiguna ~1295.1 km (3:30am-5pm) Saturday 07/02/2009 Woke up at 3am (my watch was always showing Melbourne time as I didnt want to make an advantage of daylight savings and be surprised on the way back). This leg was "very easy". First stop at Kimba. Kimba - Center of Australia Refreshment Next break/refueling was in Poochera Ceduna is a very nice town and left excellent impression. Ceduna beach Ceduna park Resting The petrol station in Nundroo had Bio-Unleaded only (another name for ethanol) but I already had 1/4 of a tank of BP Ultimate so mixing shouldnt harm engine a lot. Met there an Italian guy on a black Ducati with plastic jerry can on the back seat full of high quality petrol. He said he was very tired and wanted to sleep there for a couple of hours. He also got lost in Adelaide and his mobile phone died in heat too. Also, he got pulled by the police in Adelaide, but they couldnt find anything in their books about it so they let him go. Anyway, we shook hands and I proceeded towards Nullarbor roadhouse. Got there, filled petrol (interestingly that was the only roadhouse I had to leave my drivers licence before refueling). Guy at the counter said there were many runoffs and now they introduced this rule. Nullarbor Nullarbor 2 I saw a camping trailer with slogan ADVENTURE BEFORE DEMENTIA, and I totally agree with this. ADVENTURE BEFORE DEMENTIA Middle of nowhere I removed the GPS and sticked to a kms distances data sheet. Near SA/WA border Near SA/WA border 2 There is a customs/agricultural checkpoint on SA/WA border where you have to declare any fruit, honey, etc... Just before Caiguna I hit a Magpie bird. Initially bird went off in right direction, but then decided to go back and hit my left leg. It hurt a lot, but couldnt see anything broken on my leg. But what shocked me was birds blood was all over my pants and bike. Birds digestive system somehow got under the seat (!?!). That was my strongest emotional moment. If that was a kangaroo or larger animal instead of a bird, I would be probably the one with digestive system out. No comment Decision was to stay at Caiguna for the night and to go back home the next day. Thoughts were on my mind do I really need this and why am I doing all this ? I still believe this is all mental rather than physical game. Another chain lubricating. Room at Caiguna roadhouse Day 3 - Caiguna - Perth - Northam ~1193.3 (5:00am-9pm) Sunday 08/02/2009 Next morning I woke up with thoughts that I am only one day from Perth. So close that it would be a pity not to get there and complete the plan (actually half of it). I got to an intersection and stopped for a minute. Left or right ? ... You already know the answer. As soon as I pulled off, there was a road sign saying Australias longest straight road... 90miles or 146km of straight road. But, it was still dark and I rode around 80-100kph. At one point I noticed lights in the distance and I was curious how far was that. Started counting kilometers and assuming other vehicle was obeying speed limits, we passed each other around 15th kilometer. Multiply by 2 and you get the distance you can actually see the other person (vehicle). I believe this is due to Earth curvature. Next stop was Balladonia roadhouse where I had a good breakfast. By the way I was living on snack bars (apricot and sesame) and water. I usually had a breakfast 100-200ks after ride each morning. Balladonia menu Norseman petrol station, and Telstra GSM mobile phone coverage (finally !) Coolgardie - mining town in Western Australia. Southern Cross petrol station. Colorful parrots theyve got there. Few hours later and I was in Perth. Found some similarity between Adelaide and Perth approach, e.g. you are riding through mountain area and then descend to the city. Perth CBD Everyone says Perth has the best weather in Australia. From what Ive seen (not that much though), they are right. Kings Park Beautiful and very quiet Indian ocean beach. I felt like I could go further, or maybe even around the continent. Australia is really my backyard now. This is unfortunately the end of the road and from now on were going back. Decided to go back as far as I could. However it was 7pm Perth local time and my Melbourne clock was showing 9pm I decided to stay in Northam, some 100kms East from Perth. Another chain spraying - this was rather a ritual. Day 4 - Northam - Nullarbor ~1533.2 km (5am-10pm) Monday 09/02/2009 Departed around 5pm and headed East. Hit the road Jack... Northam early morning Sunrise over Western Australia Refueling again at Southern Cross, Coolgardie, Norseman. Mining site near Southern Cross Reminder in Coolgardie Coolgardie city centre On the road In Norseman I was approached by Murray (my apology if the spelling is not correct) - FarRiders member from WA and he was going to a dinner in NSW. We then separated but met again in Caiguna. We rode together between Caiguna and Cocklebiddy. Unfortunately my bike does not have a fuel level gauge so I relied on my Trip meter. I quickly calculated it would be better if I refuel in Cocklebiddy which would get me to the Eucla. I hope Murray arrived safely to NSW. After about an hour and half of riding I noticed yellow fuel low level light switched on around 170km, so I guess something was wrong either in my calculation, or head wind was too strong. Stupid me, I found that I was riding all the time in 5th gear (instead of 6th) !!! I couldnt believe Ive done such a stupid thing. Somehow I managed to get to a Mundrabilla roadhouse. Beware of deep holes on a gravel road ! Also never trust your feelings - always trust your gauges e.g. speedometer. If you think 60kph is too slow - no it is not. Thank God nothing happened. There I met a German rider on a yellow BMW GS. He was complaining about very poor quality fuel at Madura Oasis roadhouse. Asked lady at the counter if she could tell me business hours for Nullarbor roadhouse. She rang them (learned that was a local call for all of the roadhouses in the area) and got information they are closing at 10pm (Adelaide time). This can be very useful to someone wishing to do this trip. Madura Oasis lookout Many roads in the area are also an emergency airstrips A bit later I was on WA/SA border. I understand all roadhouses do not earn big money compared to the petrol stations in urban areas, but in my opinion some of them went too far. Example is WA/SA border petrol station. I put nozzle into the tank and squeezed the trigger and just an air went out from nozzle and counter showed about 1 liter of petrol. Hang on !! But worst is coming, I released the trigger and pulled the nozzle out. Counter was still counting liters !!! That was very funny (and very dodgy). I had to make few good yells for someone to attend. Guy just told me to go to the another pump and try again. I met two foreign females in the campervan eating apples like mad They offered me an apples too. They were going to WA and they couldnt bring it in there. Quarantine checkpoint on SA/WA border Another two hours of riding and I was in Nullarbor. Actually I got there only 15 minutes before closing so I was very happy to get there. Each time I see a bird or animal close to the road I horn. Sometimes I horn for fun but in most cases it was a precaution. And it worked. Another refill, hired a room (the last one available - lucky me:) Room at Nullarbor Day 5 - Nullarbor - Melbourne ~1823.2 km (5:00am-4:30am next day) Tuesday/Wednesday 10/11 Feb 2009 One more day. The wildlife around Nullarbor is very live at night. I had a couple of kangaroo surprises, but my hand and foot brake reflexes were good too. Another beautiful sunrise Refill at Penong roadhouse, then stopped at Ceduna. My son loves windmills so I took several photos for him Bacon, eggs and a cup of tea for breakfast. It was too dark (and dusty) previous night so I didnt spray chain until the next day. Ceduna airport Iron Knob Famous intersection at Port Augusta (right Darwin, left Perth) Easy riding to Port Augusta, Pt. Wakefield and arrived in Adelaide around 6pm. I was struggling again to find a road to Melbourne. This time the weather was much cooler and GPS showed me the fastest route to Tailem Bend Adelaide It was getting darker and darker and I realised this is going to be a whole night experience. This time I put my rain pants to keep me warmer through the cold night. Getting to Bordertown was easy. You would be surprised how lively is on the Adelaide-Melbourne leg. Plenty of trucks, Id say having fun between themselves. Ive never seen before a truck to truck tailgating at 110kph. However I decided to keep trucks ahead of me and save me from potential kangaroos. It was a little bit "warmer" behind the trucks too. At Bordertown petrol station I had a Chicken and Corn Hot Soup and that was The Best meal I had in past couple of days. I recovered very quickly and took off. I was hoping other stations will have hot soup as well but that didnt happen. Then had a tea and that was also relieving. Three more stops: Horsham, Ararat (just for tea) and Ballarat. After 23.5 hours and approx 1800kms of riding from Nullarbor I arrived home in Melbourne. Conclusion: Is my bike Ok for long rides ? I think it is. Am I ok with long exhausting rides ? I think I am . Would I do it again? Why not. Next time that will be much slower and with my loved ones. DAN NULTI Priprema kod kuma Mikija u garazi. Lemimo koaksijalne kablove i konektore. Izvlacimo 12v sa akumulatora Prethodni dan Miki na poslu ojacava (vari) postolje za antenu. Miki stavlja osigurac 10amp. Tu je i radio-stanica Yaesu ft100d i swr metar Kumovi Kao i svaki veliki posao zavrsava se u 5 do 12:) DAN PRVI Lep dan za voznju. Puni se corba, naduvavaju gume i krece se Prva pauza nekih 100km od kuce Druga pauza kod Benale. Ima se vremena pa sve ide laganica i opusteno Kod Vangarate se puni benzin i krece ka planinama Na ovu (Mt. Buffalo - 1724m.n.v.) tek treba da se popnemo. Inace priroda je manje-vise ista. Sprzena zemlja, brezuljaksto... Jak ovaj blic Nakon 5-6 sati lagane voznje stize se na vrh "The Horn" Pogledi pucaju na sve strane A tu je i objasnjenje kako je sve to nastalo Na moju veliku zalost antena za kratke talase nije funkcionisala kako treba, iako je dan ranije na pripremama sve uredno testirano i radilo. Pomalo razocaran, pakujem se i produzavam dalje. Obzirom da mi je prednja guma skoro celava, a koliko sam lenj da je promenim, ovaj put me frka hvata samo da ne pukne guma. Ovo sivilo nije ni mraz ni inje, nego je posledica nedavnih pozara U pocetku sam pomislio da je ovo orao ili neka ptica grabljivica ali tek kada sam dosao kuci zena kaze pa to je covek u beloj kacigi! Dvadesetak metara dole desno moze se videti jos jedan covek. Obzirom da nema nista u pozadini tesko je proceniti koliko je velika ova kamencina. "Lake Catani" jezero na 1300m.n.v. Pauza za rucak. Pogled na Mt. Bogong u daljini. Najvisocija planina u Viktoriji. Dole ispod je gradic Brajt(Bright). Provalija Sa ove litice polecu jedrilicari Vodopad Centar Brajta Pogled na Mt. Bogong (1986m.n.v.) Bogong Na putu za Falls Creek 17:25. Hocu li stici sve da odradim pre mraka Jezero u Bogong selu. Pre dve godine ovo jezero je bilo puno vode ali susa i vremena cine svoje. Falls Creek - skijaski centar. Kratki odmor na parkingu Put prelazi u makadam Vestacko jezero "Rocky Valley Dam" na 1600m.n.v. Krajnje odrediste Mt. McKay na 1830m.n.v. Inace, ovo je najvisa tacka ucrtana u karte na GPS uredjajima. Put postaje sve gori i gori, ali nema povratka. I konacno na vrhu Cela oblast Alpi je jedna velika visoravan na kojima se nalaze (brezuljci) vrhovi Ovo kamenje sigurno nije za sportske gume, a posebno ne za celave Hvala Bogu pa je vreme posluzilo Planinska kucica - skloniste u slucaju nevremena. Inace samo jedan oblacak na nebu ucini da se oseti hladnoca i promena vremena. Cela oblast se na aboridzanskom zove Jaithmathang Krecem nazad ka Tawongi South gde se kampuje Par fotografija usput Ponovicu, ovo sivilo nije mraz/inje, nego je izgorelo drvece Stigao u Tawongu. Sator razapet, pred spavanje DAN DRUGI Ustajanje oko 6 ujutro. Dorucak, pakovanje Kampovanje inace tik uz potok. Krenuo ka Brajtu i na putu naletim na ovaj noz/klesta/makaze/itd.... Izgravirano Steven Sandra i jos jedan datum Bas steta, pretpostavljam da im je uspomena, tako da ako znate nekog Stivena i Sandru a da su izgubili ovo, samo neka kazu datum i noz je njihov. Ovo ispred je Mt. Hotham (1860m. n.v.). Prizori su manje-vise isti kao i na drugim planinama Putevi su generalno govoreci idealni za voznju motorom (krivudavi, pregledni) ...i koliko-toliko bezbedni Put kojim smo prosli "Danny's Lookout" - ovo ce biti mesto gde ce da se ponovo isproba radio-stanica Mt. Buffalo u daljini Idealno za odvrtanje gasa Vestacko jezerce za pravljenje vestackog snega Ulazak u Mt. Hotham skijaski centar Nista bolje ne moze da sacuva glavu od UV zracenja od Drizabone sesira Pravi se pauza za kafu, sok Vracam se na Denijev vidikovac, i pocinjem sa eksperimentima ali sa 144/432MHz antenom (ona manja) Nazalost za rad preko Meseca (EME) potrebna je mnogo bolja antena i mnogo vise snage A tu se i buba-mara usetala u kadar Eksperimentisanje je gotovo (sada mnogo uspesnije nego od prethodnog dana) Krece se kuci. Prolazi se kroz Dinner Plain visoravan i spusta se ka Omeu - centar koride, rodea... Nazalost sada je vec nedelja oko 1 popodne, uz nekih 450km do Melburna Ovo su antene pretpostavljam za AM radio Opomena Radovi na putu Stize se u Bairnsdale i jede se fish'n'chips (grilled zbog posta) Bairnsdale Benzinska pumpa na oko sat vremena od kuce. Da li zbog tezine motora ili zbog kvaliteta asfalta, ili zbog visoke temperature kada sam podizao motor ostala je rupa u istom:) I za kraj cestitka od policije za brzu voznju Sledece nedelje ide se ponovo, ali ovaj put porodicno, kolima. 73s de Stjepan vk3wf --------------------------------------

Evo još jedan kratak izveštaj sa ove strane planete. Nakon 2-dnevne provale oblaka nezapamćene za ovo doba godine, kiša koja je počela od petka nije prestajala da pada sve do u nedelju oko 9 ujutro. Nažalost (ne)vreme (i okolnosti) čine svoje, pa se ovaj put okupio neuporedivo manji broj ljudi u poređenju sa prošlom godinom. Daleko od predviđene cifre od 10.000, tako da se po slobodnoj proceni pojavilo oko 500 motociklista i prijatelja. No bez obzira na vremenske (ne)prilike, plan je bio da se ide, kao što Busman reče makar i sekire padale. Vožnja je kao i svake godine nekih 15ak km od Melburna do Vilijamstauna gde su pokloni primani od strane humanitaraca. Organizovan je i koncert (nije AC/DC ali su kasnili sa početkom tako da nisam imao prilike da ih čujem. Činjenica je da bez prisustva dece nema emotivnog efekta, ali možda ni ta opcija nije loša. Prednost je da će na ovaj način pokloni biti "ravnopravnije" raspodeljeni. Sećam se pre x godina kada smo išli u Zvečansku, tamo su nam rekli da postoji još domova koji nisu toliko medijski eksponirani i koji zbog toga ne dobijaju puno pažnje. Sremčica je jedan slučaj. U svakom slučaju tema za razmišljanje za sledeću godinu. Tačno je - nema dece. Pretpostavljam da je razlog što se ovde ne donose paketići, nego svako donosi posebno igračke/konzerviranu hranu i to se daje Salvejšn armiju (nešto kao Crveni krst kod nas). Onda oni to pakuju i distribuiraju dalje deci (tj. onima kojima treba). Sa druge strane, ako bi se pojavilo 1000+ ljudi u nekom domu od 300+ štićenika, problem bi bio i tehničke prirode - gde smestiti tolike ljude. Dalje, postoje i bezbednosni razlozi čuvanja dece. Ipak smo mi "stranci" za njih i njihovim starateljima sigurno ne bi bilo svejedno da se pojavi grupa od 500+ motociklista, posebno što ni ovde generalno slika o nama nije najlepša. I među nama ima "kukolja" bez obzira na naše dobre namere. Sve u svemu, ne sumnjam da će igračke/hrana otići u prave ruke.

Upravo se vratih sa lokalnog Tojrana, nešto slično Dedamraz akciji kod nas. Okupljanje je organizovano u pristaništu u Frenkstonu. Okupio se manji broj motociklista (oko 500) i oko 10 sati se krenulo ka Rozbadu, nekih 50ak kilometara od Frenkstona. Oko sat vremena lagane vožnje i uz dve kratke pauze stiglo se u srednju školu u Rozbad gde su pokloni primljeni od lokalne humanitarne organizacije (Salvejšn armi). Dočekao nas je švedski sto bogat hranom i pićem, sve u svemu pohvala za organizatore cele akcije. Dan inače idealan za vožnju (oblačno bez kiše) i na satu oko 130km. Jedna mala opaska, nadam se da mi nećete zameriti. Ne slažem se 100% da se poklonima ne gleda u zube. Kada to kažem onda prvenstveno mislim na e-waste (ili u prevodu elektronsko đubre), kao i sve ostale "polovne" stvari. Na milione starih kompjutera svake godine završe u Africi (pa i kod nas) i žalosno je čitati kako ljudi umiru od otrova koji se nalaze u kompjuterima. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6187358.stm Verujem da su namere časne kod svakog onog ko želi da pokloni stari kompjuter/štampač/itd.. ali kada su takve stvari u pitanju treba prvo pitati primaoca da li želi da primi takav poklon. Isti princip treba da važi i za sve ostale stvari. U sličnoj akciji (www.toyrun.org.au) koja se organizuje na zapadu, od donatora traži da donesu nove i neotpakovane stvari. Pozdrav
