014 - DUCLOS Alain
The Dakar became a part of Alain Duclos’ life in 1982 when the caravan passed near his village in the north of the Ivory Coast.
The competitors slept in local homes.
"My family hosted Raymond Loizeaux, and it was he who transmitted the passion of rallying to me", says the native of Bamako, Mali.
Following his stay, Loizeaux sent his #102 jersey to the young Duclos. "That jersey was like my security blanket", he remembers.
During his first Dakar in 2000, Alain Duclos handed a piece of cloth to Raymond Loizeaux in a symbolic gesture of things coming full circle.
