Information for Offroad Day 1 - Sunday 17th July 2011
Traditionally Day 1 is known as a “tough warm up day”, but anyone who has raced Red Bull Romaniacs before will know that there is no easy day at the Romaniacs ! For sure In 2011 Day 1 will NOT be as tough as day 1 in 2010.
From the start all riders will enjoy a 33km section of flowing canyon, river crossings and rallye style fast forest trails before reaching tankpoint 1.
Now the work starts, hobby riders will enjoy a scenic route over ridges and through valleys until they reach the signpost “Johhny what the fuck” which indicates a small but intense decent while the pro and expert riders will have all of “Craig´s Stone mountain” to deal with.
After a while, Pro and Trials riders will leave the Expert competitors and head off to the triple challenge of “Sled Path”, “Homer’s Downhill” and “Nicholi NO PATH”, the sting in the tail of “Craig Stone Mountain”.
Hobby class participants then go up the rock and tree road known as “Hobby River” and join the expert and Pro riders at the top of the mountain.
The track is common for all participants all the way to tank point 2, just as they see the service point, the Pro/Trials and Experts will leave the hobby riders for an extra taste of extreme enduro riding and the last mission for Pro’s in the form of a 200 meters of a river known as “Stone’s Throw” before getting a well deserved rest at the service point.
From the service point, riders will get a chance to stretch their legs and take in the scenery on a fast rallye style track to the finish, a hill climb finish at Gusterita .
