  1. Great pictures Igor; I wish I could read the ride report. ;D
  2. Igor, my good friend, I always have extra for you. ;D
  3. Did you guy's lose interest already??? Maybe this will help.
  4. Next stop Tequila. Tequila is a small town outside of Guadalajara where 90% of the worlds Tequila is produced. WE had a wonderful time taking the Jose Quervo factory tour and I highly recommend it to you if you enjoy Tequila. We tried all the different Tequilas on this tour and then at the end we sat at their bar and drank as much tequila as we wanted. This is what happens when you drink to much tequila. Now we are headed back to Guadalajara to go to a Mexican biker bar that I heard about. It was called Barba negra(Black Beard) the owner was really cool and they had a great band playing Led Zepplin and Janis Joplin. The next day I got a call that the bike was done so I headed down to pick it up. My mechanic Carlos stayed until midnight geting the bike finished so we could be back on the road in time to spend Dia De Los Muertos in Morelia. I can't say enough about Carlos but he is a great guy and an very good mechanic. Back on the road again we ended up in Morelia for the festival. I was a little nervous because Morelia is located in the state of Michocan and there is one of the deadliest drug wars going on there. Morelia was grenaded two weeks before we arrived and eight people were killed. We ended up having a wonderful time without seeing any violence. ;D The Day of the dead festival is huge in Mexico. Everyone dresses in costume and walks the streets drinking and celebrating. The locals stay up all night and the party lasts for several days. MMMM Good times. That is it for now but I will keep the adventure going if everyone is enjoying it so far. Here is another teaser to help keep you tuned in.
  5. Thanks again for all the positive replies. We get up early to get on the road again but I start to notice a vibration in the pegs. I tell myself it must be the road even though I knew it wasn't. We get about fifty miles outside of Mazatlan and the vibration gets worse. I pull over, put my ear to the final drive and spin the wheel and f@%$ the final drive bearings are going out. Now I carry a huge assortment of tools but it doesn't do any good with out the extra parts and you can't carry everything. The only thing left is to try and get a tow from one of the locals. We were in luck; we loaded the bike in a farmers truck and made a beeline for Guadalajara. No wonder the bearings gave out; look at my fat ass. Here I am unloading the bike down the stairs since they couldn't find any ramps. We had planned on a night or two in Puerto Vallarta but needed to head straight to Guadalajara to find a BMW repair shop. I am glad we did to because we were there a week and still did not see everything we had wanted to. This was our view from our hotel room. Below are just mics. photos from Guadalajara Mexico. If you have any questions on these places feel free to ask. The following pictures are from the Open air market (Mercado) in downtown. Look!!! They sell babies along with produce here. These next pictures are of the govenors palace and show how much religion is a part of this country. I don't know about you guys but I have about had it with organized religion; it causes to many problems in the world. That is it for now but I will leave you with another teaser. I will also try to update this on Thursday so as not to keep you waiting. Do any of you want to come to the US and do this trip next time I go?
  6. No worries my friend; I will get back to the adventure on Thursday when I am off of work next. Thank you to everyone for the great replies and I hope you all can make it to Arizona one day for a ride. ;D
  7. Ziveli, my fellow motorcycle brothers. It has been awhile since I have posted a ride report so here goes. My wife and I rode from Arizona to Morelia Mexico for the Dias De Los Muertos festival. Mexico is a very dangerous place these day. Over four thousand people were murdered last year in Mexico with many being decapitated. Morelia was targeted by gunmen with grenades two weeks before we arrived killing eight people and Creel also had a massacre that killed fourteen people including two children. Despite all this we still love to travel to Mexico. It is a beutiful country full of wonderful people and we can't wait to return. Below is my ride report; I hope you enjoy it. This is my wife Rebecca and I getting ready to hit the road. Our first stop on this journey was Guaymas Mexico. Guaymas is a not so small fishing villiage with good seafood and cheap beer. This is my friends fishing boat that he let us sleep on. http://pbjpics.smugmug.com/photos/414122346_a5rwN-M.jpg This is a funky house in the middle of nowhere that I later found out was owned by the head of the Sinaloa drug cartel. The next night we stayed in El Fuerte where my friend Francisco has a hotel that has been in his family for over four hundred years. It looks like a normal hotel until you open the big wooden doors and then it opens up to paradise. The rooms were very nice and the garden was unbelievible. The room we stayed in was on the bottom and the restuarant was in an old church. The food he prepared for us was fabulous. This is my friend Francisco and his wife Sandra. Like all good adventures the show must go on. Here I am leaving the hotel and Rebecca and I on the road again. The next stop is Mazatla where we stay with Glen Hegstad (aka- strikingviking.net). Glen is an awesome guy with alot of miles and adventures under his belt. He had a great penthouse suite on covering the whole top floor and welcomed us with open arms and free beer. Veiw from his penthouse. That is it for now but I will leave you with a teaser . As the saying goes "the adventure begins when things stop going according as planned"
  8. I think I posted this in the wrong thread again. What is the correct ride report thread for this?
  9. You should visit Belgrade to meet the most beautifull girls and have tons of beer :D Heineken, Tuborg, Efes, Holsten, Becks, all brewed in Serbia, cheap and cool ;D You should come and visit Belgrade, maybe moto rally organized by MC Familija (Family) or just visit Belgrade anytime. You won't regreg ;D ;D ;D If I don't ship my bike to Munich we will be flying into Belgrade. We are staying with a friend of mine in Banja Luka while we are in Europe so I was looking for a ride to Bosnia (train,car...etc). Maybe we should stay a night in Belgrade. ;D
  10. Wow R100 with only 20,000; how did you manage to find that? I would love to ship my bike; do you know of a shipping co and how much it might cost. I have a friend in Banja Luka that I am staying with that has offered me a bike for UMag but I would really love to be riding my own. What is the rail system like in Bosnia and Croatia? This will be our first trip to Europe so any help would be greatly appriciated. Are you going to see our Serbian friends while you are there? If so let them know I am coming and maybe get some contact information for me. I hope you have fun and have safe travels my friend. Perry I just looked at your photos of bike and that machine is in perfect shape. What a steal; do you still have the Aprilia?
  11. Hey Dan, nice to hear from you. If you are talking about my accident in Death Vally I was riding again as soon as I got the (new to me)R1150GS. I will post photos here of my DV trip along with my wrecked bike so you can check it out. Are you going to be able to go to the UMag gathering. It will be nice to finally meet you and ride together. Ziveli!!! Perry
  12. NSFW so I will check out these photo's when I get home but thanks for the link. The gathering looks like a lot of fun and I can't wait.
  13. Lots and lots of beer. Colorado is known for their brewerys and I was drinking all night long after the rides. Is there any beer for me at the UMag rally? How is the sight seeing at the rally(girls)? Does anyone have pictures of the past rallys?
  14. I haven't posted here in awhile so I thought I would post my Westfest pics for you. West fest was held in Lake City Colorado this year and we had plenty of riding and a lot of booze. Here is the thread for Westfest. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=252484 The end!!! I hope you enjoy the photos and I can't wait to meet everyone in May for the UMag Rally. ;D
